2004. 3 Organisation and participation in the Symposium:World Heritage and Community – Shirakami, Tasmania and Galapagos (Hirosaki University, Shirakami Research Society)
2004. 4 Visit to Blue Tier and St Marys. Meeting with community members.
2004. 6 Friendship Trip for Conservation 1 – 20 Hobart-based Japanese students visit Blue Tier and St Marys. Participation in St Marys Winter Solstice Festival, presentation of Friendship statement
2004. 7 Friendship Trip for Conservation 2 – 30 Hobart-based Japanese students and their friends visit Blue Tier and St Marys. Presentation of a film Princess Monomoke (dr.Miyazaki) and placing of Kodama in Crystal Hill Coupe. The following day, a 2ha private land was donated by Mr Steve Cameron to the Japanese group. Students subsequently formed an environmental group ECHO
2004. 11 Presentations at the University of Tasmania and the World Heritage Area Committee, Tasmania (Prof Makita and Kato). With 15 Japanese students (ECHO) and Prof Makita, the donated land was named as Kodama Forest, a forest of tree spirits
2005. 10 Presentation at the Asia-Pacific World Heritage Conference (Hirosaki University) with Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Services (Mr T O’Loughlin). Presentation at the Hirosaki City Hall.
2005. 11Suikinkutsu (water harp) was installed in Kodama under a guidance of Master gardener, Mr Kubo Yoshinobu, director, Kubo Zouen, Kyoto. With Mrs Gloria Andrews, representative Minaamata Country and Friends of Blue Tier, ECHO members, installation and the “First-sound Concert” (hatsuneshiki) was carried out
2006. 5 A book “World Heritage in Australia” published in Japan (Kato & Furuta) including an article on Kodama Forest
2006. 8 Tasmanian Living Writers Week ”Windscape of Kodama”. Poetry reading and concert with 60 wind-bells
